3 km from Zagreb Airport

Quiet rooms, ten minutes from the runway.

A family-run guesthouse on a quiet street outside Zagreb — three kilometres from the airport, and a world away from it.

Since 2012

Run by one family, on one street, since the beginning.

Karla Weingartnera 11 sits on a quiet residential street in Velika Mlaka, a village folded into the Turopolje countryside just south of Zagreb. The airport is close enough for an early flight and far enough that you'll fall asleep to birds instead of traffic.

The house has been run by the same family for over a decade, and it shows in the small things — a real conversation at check-in, fresh towels, and a garden that guests actually sit in. There's usually a dog somewhere near the gate, keeping an eye on things.

Flexible about late arrivals, happy to point you to the right bus stop, and never far away if you need something.

The awards on the hall table go back to 2012. They're a small thing, but they're the reason we still put fresh flowers on that table.

Garden & Grill

The good part happens outside.

Behind the house, a covered terrace holds a wood-fired oven that's older than most of the guests — the heart of the grill nights once the weather turns.

The oven

Built into brick, under its own roof, and fired up for grill nights whenever there are enough people to justify it.

The donkey

A small stone guardian of the flowerbeds. Nobody quite remembers who brought him in, but he's stayed.

The lounge

A separate wooden room off the garden, doors open in summer — good for a slow evening drink once the terrace empties out.

Getting Here

Three kilometres from Zagreb Airport.

Close enough that a delayed flight isn't a crisis, quiet enough that you won't hear the runway.
